About Me

i'm emma blight, the creator behind be a light co (with my mom and dad)!

to start with, i've grown up between texas and oklahoma, mainly a texas gal, now i'm going to college at the university of oklahoma. i started this in 2020 as a 19 year-old just trying to navigate the world in a God-honoring and joyful way. 

the brand name came from two very specific things in my life: my last name and the way i try to live my life. my last name is integrated in this as this is always how i explain the spelling of my last name: "it's b then light, blight". furthermore, i consistently strive to "be a light" in this crazy world we live in, so naming this after that just makes sense. 

be a light co. is partnership with my mom and dad.

my dad, andy, and i love working together as he is one of the greatest and most talented people i know. he loves working in our garage (aka andy's backyard woodshop) making cutting boards, charcuterie boards, serving platters and so much more - a true diy guy making super cool and one of a kind woodwork!

my mom, laura, amazes me. not only does she keep our family together, she consistently lends a helping hand to those in our community and beyond. she's a two-time breast cancer survivor (read about her journey here) and has created cancer care kits based on her experiences. share your love and support by sending one to an adult or child going through treatment. 

we are super passionate about making things! we want these products to support and represent us and our brand, as well as for everyone to have meaningful and happy items in life. as of now, everything is sold from this website under the shop tab!
